I too have found public domain music very hard to come by. Unfortunately from what I have read there is *no* recorded music to which the copyright has expired (and thanks to Disney this won’t happen for a while). Even if there was it would probably predate even Jazz so yeah, you are going to have a hard time. The only public domain music is stuff someone has placed there, not often it is good.

Some bands have released music online, perhaps you could ask them for permission. Perhaps a podcasting forum could help there too (surely others have had the same problems).

I shall pass on to Stu a message about the advertising oppertunity. I hope the products are good enough, I have been told that they are of the highest quality but that was by a marketing type person…

I was hoping to see if we can generate the necessary background music. I’ll look for some samples that might give you an idea of what I’m trying to do. There will be a narrator.

I’ll naturally do the Paul character, I also have some ideas for The Voice – i’ll have to experiment a little – i’m thinking he’ll sound like Ned (from Southpark) crossed with Darth Vader – he has a disease after all.

On the “not violate copyright law” ideal, which is nice to be sure, does this mean only music in the Public Domain? Aside from some decent Classical, I never came across any public domain music that didn’t make me want to hurl when i was looking into it in my film days. My resources were limited back then though, so we may find more out there now.

Audio is a story-telling format i’m not too familiar with – aside from Audio books. So I can get a better understanding of the medium, can you please point me in the direction of any podcasts that are *like* what you have in mind?

I could play the Will character, after all that is me so who’s better qualified? I don’t like the sound of my recorded voice though.

Also, I will be adding more characters and fiddling it around a little so that there are less “in” jokes so more people can appreciate what we are doing.
