This has certainly become a "hot topic!" They estimate these cartridges take some 450 million years to decompose and if you're melting them down, the raplacements take nearly a gallon of oil to produce. Lyra researh determined over 350 million cartridges ended up in landfills in North America in 2006. That is allot of waste.

I can understand your concerns regarding refilled cartridges, we hear them often at my company http://www.ecoprintstore.com, but I can assure you the quality has substantially improved over the last few years. I would like to offer you an opportunity to contact me through the website and I would be more than happy to send you some of our ISO 9001 remanufactured cartridges free of charge to get you to test the.waters again.

Nuclear waste is disposed by building huge containers and sinking them to the bottom of the ocean; since toner seems to be as dangerous it is no doubt disposed the same way. Alternatively we could create a big ball of used cartridges and get Superman to hurl it into the Sun. Unfortunately this option runs the risk of creating Toner Man.
